This week we had to take an object of our choice, photograph it using 3 point lighting, and then paint it. Here's my reference photograph: My painted version: This assignment took me about 3 hours.

For this week we looked at various compositions and had to create an illustration of our choice using one of the following composition types.  I decided on the circular composition...originally I had planned for the radial view, but as I continued, my progress became more of the circular composition.  Reference: Final illustration: Overall I spent about 1 hour gathering references and sketching and about 2 hours painting the final image. Edit: I decided that I  needed more practice, so I decided to do another one.  I gathered an image from the movie, My Neighbor Totoro, for my reference. Rough sketch: Final illustration: I spent about 6 hours on this assignment, 2 hours per drawing.
